PEARL OYSTER MUSHROOMS
Our pearl oyster mushroom variety is named after a friend and excellent farmer, John DiZ, who collected this strain locally, making it well-adapted to flourish in Central Virginia’s climate.
This mushroom grows in beautiful clusters on Tulip Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) and Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima), and other hardwood logs. Usually fruits in 4-6 months.
Pleurotus is cultivated worldwide and is known as easy to grow and delicious to eat. An excellent choice for adding seasonal gourmet mushrooms to your edible landscape.
